Cake PHP have launched a new version or their PHP framework and one of the snippets was the integration of SimplePie. The install and demo for normal sites is incredibly simple and the code is fully featured but held in a single file. It can even spit out the “subscribe via” links for the major sites.

All in all it appears to be very impressive.

At the v7n forum an enthusiastic programmer decided he wanted to build himself a FSBO website for the UK market. Only he gave his site description and when other forumites came back with warnings that the FSBO market was pretty tough and cornered by the big realtor franchises he obviously had no idea what FSBO stood for!!!

FSBO: For Sale By Owner, usually real estate.

It’s a term that is catching on as the industry grows and while it’s not in common conversation yet if you are planning a business you should at least know the catch phrases of the industry.

Now, I’m as guilty as the next person of throwing up a website and having a go. But if you are planning for this to be more than a hobby, for it to be a proper business then it’s essential to have a written business plan…

I discovered the concept of Lens a while ago and have recently revisited them at Squidoo. You can see my meagre efforts of exposing

A lens is basically a single page fact sheet. You could have one for every day of your life I guess, or for every topic which interests you. It’s not designed to be a blog, but as a collection I guess there is some cross over.

Squidoo have included the basics of writing articles, lists, including RSS feeds and images. They’ve even found a way to monetise it with revenue sharing.
