Over the Xmas holidays my children were introduced to Volcanic Panic a maths game from EdAlive. It was a great introduction to educational games that could be played by the 10 year old cousin, and my two – all at the same time.

Way back when web pages were all static and javascript was cool I had a play with site submission software tools and found a forum to discuss the relative merits. It was the first time I’d come across the phrase Search Engine Optimisation or SEO and once I had the magic password a wealth of information appeared before me.
Last year I created a draft logo using an online tool to create a logo for Grubi Tennis. The final version was produced by a designer (as I’d lost the url of the original website).
For those of us who want to make a few extra bucks from our websites but don’t want the bother of chasing advertisers and hustling Google’s Adsense program is a blessing. You have alot of control over the ads, can block competitors and you have to do virtually nothing to get going.

Yesterday afternoon Hilz, my wonderful sister in law, offered us some tickets to Bad Jelly the Witch. It was being produced by the Southern Stars Charitable Trust who somehow manage to make money while giving away huge numbers of tickets (but when you buy them, wow, they’re pricey). The shows are always fundraisers for charities, this time it was for Epilepsy Auckland and North Harbour.
I’ve been having a big search around the BMX forums and websites looking for race software. Apart from the fact that the more glamourous freestyle bmx is dominant the sites also focus on the participants and not the people holding it all together. I guess that has been the cry of club admins the since time began.
